- Section 4 -
Love and Truth make free, but evil and error lead into captivity.
230:1 Chapter 8: Footsteps of Truth
(Sickness from mortal mind)
If sickness is real, it belongs to immortality; if true, it is a
part of Truth. Would you attempt with drugs, or without, to
destroy a quality or condition of Truth? But if sickness and sin
are illusions, the awakening from this mortal dream, or illusion,
will bring us into health, holiness, and immortality. This
awakening is the forever coming of Christ, the advanced appearing
of Truth, which casts out error and heals the sick. This is the
salvation which comes through God, the divine Principle, Love, as
demonstrated by Jesus.
495:2-13 Chapter 14: Recapitulation
br> Question 22. - Will you explain sickness
and show how it is to be healed?
ADAM = The opposite of Love, called hate.
ADAM = The usurper of Spirit's creation, called self-creative matter.
(Followers of Jesus)
Truth casts out error now as surely as it did nineteen centuries
ago. All of Truth is not understood; hence its healing power is
not fully demonstrated.
(Destruction of all evil)
If sickness is true or the idea of Truth, you cannot destroy
sickness, and it would be absurd to try. Then classify sickness
and error as our Master did, when he spoke of the sick, "whom
Satan hath bound," and find a sovereign antidote for error in the
life-giving power of Truth acting on human belief, a power which
opens the prison doors to such as are bound, and sets the captive
free physically and morally.
224:28-11 Chapter 8: Footsteps of Truth
Truth brings the elements of liberty. On its banner is the
Soul-inspired motto, "Slavery is abolished." The power of God
brings deliverance to the captive. No power can withstand divine
Love. What is this supposed power, which opposes itself to God?
Whence cometh it? What is it that binds man with iron shackles to
sin, sickness, and death? Whatever enslaves man is opposed to the
divine government. Truth makes man free.
You may know when first Truth leads by the fewness and
faithfulness of its followers. Thus it is that the march of time
bears onward freedom's banner. The powers of this world will
fight, and will command their sentinels not to let truth pass the
guard until it subscribes to their systems; but Science, heeding
not the pointed bayonet, marches on.
