UNREALITY.

- Section 2 -

Job 4:17-19
17 Shall mortal man be more just
than God? shall a man be more pure
than his maker?
18 Behold, he put no trust in his
servants; and his angels he charged
with folly:
19 How much less in them that dwell
in houses of clay, whose foundation
is in the dust, which are crushed
before the moth?

***
Romans 8:6-8
6 For to be carnally minded is
death; but to be spiritually minded
is life and peace.
7 Because the carnal mind is enmity
against God: for it is not subject to
the law of God, neither indeed can
be.
8 So then they that are in the
flesh cannot please God.

For heaven's Christus, earthly Eves,
By Adam bid,
Make merriment on Christmas eves,
O'er babe and crib.

Thy kingdom is come,
 Thou art ever-present.

(Definition of mortal mind)
Usage classes both evil and good together as mind; therefore,
to be understood, the author calls sick and sinful humanity
mortal mind, - meaning by this term the flesh opposed to Spirit,
the human mind and evil in contradistinction to the divine Mind,
or Truth and good. The spiritually unscientific definition of mind
is based on the evidence of the physical senses, which makes minds
many and calls mind both human and divine.
In Science, Mind is one, including noumenon and phenomena, God
and His thoughts.
(Imperfect terminology)
Mortal mind is a solecism in language, and involves an improper
use of the word mind. As Mind is immortal, the phrase mortal
mind implies something untrue and therefore unreal; and as the
phrase is used in teaching Christian Science, it is meant to
designate that which has no real existence.
(Causation mental)
Science shows that what is termed matter is but the subjective
state of what is termed by the author mortal mind.

Yet wherefore signalize the birth
Of him ne'er born?
What can rehearse the glorious worth
Of his high morn?

Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

(Animal magnetism destroyed)
Mortal mind, acting from the basis of sensation in matter, is
animal magnetism; but this so-called mind, from which comes all
evil, contradicts itself, and must finally yield to the eternal
Truth, or the divine Mind, expressed in Science. In proportion to
our understanding of Christian Science, we are freed from the
belief of heredity, of mind in matter or animal magnetism; and we
disarm sin of its imaginary power in proportion to our spiritual
understanding of the status of immortal being.

103:18 Chapter 5: Animal Magnetism Unmasked

Chapter 5: Animal Magnetism Unmasked
The rights of woman acknowledged

(The genus of error)
As named in Christian Science, animal magnetism or hypnotism is
the specific term for error, or mortal mind. It is the false
belief that mind is in matter, and is both evil and good; that
evil is as real as good and more powerful. This belief has not
one quality of Truth. It is either ignorant or malicious. The
malicious form of hypnotism ultimates in moral idiocy. The truths
of immortal Mind sustain man, and they annihilate the fables of
mortal mind, whose flimsy and gaudy pretensions, like silly moths,
singe their own wings and fall into dust.

479:23 Chapter 14: Recapitulation

Chapter 14: Recapitulation

To-day, as oft, away from sin

Question 16. - Does brain think, and do nerves feel, and is
there intelligence in matter?

ADAM = A product of nothing as the mimicry of something.

(Chaos and darkness)
Darkness and chaos are the imaginary opposites of light,
understanding, and eternal harmony, and they are the elements of
nothingness.
