DOCTRINE OF ATONEMENT.

- Section 4 -

Titus 2:11-14
11 For the grace of God that
bringeth salvation hath appeared to
all men,
12 Teaching us that, denying
ungodliness and worldly lusts, we
should live soberly, righteously, and
godly, in this present world;
13 Looking for that blessed hope,
and the glorious appearing of the
great God and our Saviour Jesus
Christ;
14 Who gave himself for us, that he
might redeem us from all iniquity,
and purify unto himself a peculiar
people, zealous of good works.

***
Romans 8:13-15,19-21
13 For if ye live after the flesh,
ye shall die: but if ye through the
Spirit do mortify the deeds of the
body, ye shall live.
14 For as many as are led by the
Spirit of God, they are the sons of
God.
15 For ye have not received the
spirit of bondage again to fear; but
ye have received the Spirit of
adoption, whereby we cry, Abba,
Father.
19 For the earnest expectation of
the creature waiteth for the
manifestation of the sons of God.
20 For the creature was made
subject to vanity, not willingly, but
by reason of him who hath subjected
the same in hope,
21 Because the creature itself also
shall be delivered from the bondage
of corruption into the glorious
liberty of the children of God.

Christ was not crucified - that doom
Was Jesus' part;
For Sharon's rose must bud and bloom

*God was manifest in the Flesh- St.Paul

Enable us to know, -as in heaven, so on earth,- God is omnipotent, supreme.

(Sickness from mortal mind)
If sickness is real, it belongs to immortality; if true, it is a
part of Truth. Would you attempt with drugs, or without, to
destroy a quality or condition of Truth? But if sickness and sin
are illusions, the awakening from this mortal dream, or illusion,
will bring us into health, holiness, and immortality. This
awakening is the forever coming of Christ, the advanced appearing
of Truth, which casts out error and heals the sick. This is the
salvation which comes through God, the divine Principle, Love, as
demonstrated by Jesus.

(Jesus the way-shower)
Born of a woman, Jesus' advent in the flesh partook partly of
Mary's earthly condition, although he was endowed with the Christ,
the divine Spirit, without measure. This accounts for his
struggles in Gethsemane and on Calvary, and this enabled him to be
the mediator, or way-shower, between God and men. Had his origin
and birth been wholly apart from mortal usage, Jesus would not
have been appreciable to mortal mind as "the way."

Thus olden faith's pale star now blends
In seven-hued white!
Life, without birth and without end,
Emitting light!

Give us grace for to-day;
feed the famished affections.

(-9- The Son of God)
IX. Jesus was born of Mary. Christ is the true idea voicing
good, the divine message from God to men speaking to the human
consciousness. The Christ is incorporeal, spiritual, - yea, the
divine image and likeness, dispelling the illusions of the senses;
the Way, the Truth, and the Life, healing the sick and casting out
evils, destroying sin, disease, and death. As Paul says: "There
is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ
Jesus." The corporeal man Jesus was human.

(Effective triumph)
Though demonstrating his control over sin and disease, the great
Teacher by no means relieved others from giving the requisite
proofs of their own piety. He worked for their guidance, that
they might demonstrate this power as he did and understand its
divine Principle. Implicit faith in the Teacher and all the
emotional love we can bestow on him, will never alone make us
imitators of him. We must go and do likewise, else we are not
improving the great blessings which our Master worked and suffered
to bestow upon us.

22:11 Chapter 2: Atonement and Eucharist

(Wait for reward)
"Work out your own salvation," is the demand of Life and Love,
for to this end God worketh with you. "Occupy till I come!" Wait
for your reward, and "be not weary in well doing." If your
endeavors are beset by fearful odds, and you receive no present
reward, go not back to error, nor become a sluggard in the race.
