The Paradox of Love

It has been said that love makes the world go around. But what is love? Countless books have been written about it, but do they define it? Religious priests, gurus, and holy men speak in terms of love and give sermons on the subject, but do they understand its dimension? The whole of humanity is seeking to be touched by it, but are people looking for the right thing?

These are not trivial questions. If they were trivial, the world would not be a showcase of war, financial looting, economic destruction, and fascist policies of large scale murder and depopulation. Nor would there be any nuclear weapons, to say nothing about the present abundance of them. The exploration of the great question about love is therefore a vital one. This exploration may actually be critical to the survival of life and civilization in the near term as the world is entering a new phase of escalating crisis.
